Neutral Foods For A Food Combining Diet.
Neutral foods for a food combining diet include all vegetables, except for starchy ones like potatoes, yams, all the different varieties of squash and pumpkins.
Salads. All kinds of lettuces etc.
All kinds of mushrooms and sprouts such as bean sprouts, cress, alfalfa, lentil sprouts, etc.
All types of nuts and seeds such as hazelnuts, pistachios, walnuts, brazil nuts, almonds, pecans, macadamian nuts, pine nuts, the only exception is peanuts.
All types of seeds such as sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and poppy seeds.
Raw meats such as Vitello Tonnato, Carpaccio and other similar delicacies.
Cured and smoked sausages like Proscuitto and some Salamis’. Just be aware of the fat content.
Raw Fish such as Sushi. My favourite, smoked Trout, Mackerel, Salmon or Halibut. In fact any kind of smoked fish is classified as a very good “neutral foods for a food combining diet”.
Herbs and spices. These aren’t classified as foods but can be used to give yours meals a bit of interest. You should also know that most herbs and spices have their own inbuilt beneficial elements. Herbs like ginger, garlic, chives, parsley, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, help with digestion.
Drinks that are neutral include water, herb teas, and believe it or not some high proof spirits.
Remember the ideal of a food combining diet is to eat foods that will digest at roughly the same time and that require the same alkaline or acidic environment to digest them.
Below are a few cheats that you can use if you have one of those days….
If you eat Starch & Protein at the same meal, eat some legumes.
• If you’re partial to eating nuts, eat an acid fruit with them.
• If you still eat dairy products, eat an acid fruit with them.
• If you have overloaded on pasta, eat an apple the next morning.
• If you have eaten too much PROTEIN, eat papaya the next morning.
• If you’ve, eaten too much SUGAR, eat grapes the next morning.
• If you’ve consumed too much SALT, eat watermelon the next morning.
Hopefully you now have a better understanding of what “neutral foods” you can eat on a food combining diet.
